This exhibition catalog showcases his multifaceted personality (as an artist), the expressions (works) born from the fusion of these elements, and his creative process (education) at Joshibi University of Art and Design. Focusing on the characteristic themes of Yuzuki's work, it delves into his diverse life and creative process spanning 100 years, and the enduring appeal of his vibrant presence.

This comprehensive volume covers approximately 150 of Samiro Yuzuki's works, from dyeing, stencil dyeing, glass painting, and book design from the 1950s to the 2000s, to artwork for the Ace Hotel Kyoto (opened in 2020) and his latest collaboration with IDEE.

Samiro Yuzuki: Dyeer. Born in Tokyo in 1922. Her encounter with Soetsu Yanagi's "Mingei" (folk craft) and the calendars of Shosuke Serizawa led her to pursue a career in dyeing. While creating numerous works including stencil dyeing and dyed paintings, she also taught at Joshibi University of Art and Design. She also works on picture books, prints, and three-dimensional works.
