The story follows unknown potters who established folk kilns in Izumo. What kind of ideal community did they strive for, guided by their folk art masters?  Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. In this place shortly after the end of the war, amateur young men began making pottery. After a major shift in values in the postwar period, their goal was to create an ideal craft community where no one exploited another. Guided by folk craft masters such as Soetsu Yanagi, Kanjiro Kawai, Shoji Hamada, and Bernard Leach, they have now become one of Shimane's leading pottery studios. What is their life's purpose? What is the joy of their work? This is a look back at the trajectory of a community that transcends generations.
